Overview
Works to stabilise the front and return elevation on Hall Street.
There was evidence of long-standing movement around the main entrance pediment and the parapet walls. Existing cracks were stabilised with proprietary crack repair systems.
The whole elevation was repointed with lime mortar, along with lifting and relaying coping stones.
Construction Details
Design and installation of anchors to tie existing entrance pediment back to spine walls.
Raking out and re-pointing of whole elevation with lime mortar.
Repairs to rainwater pipes, gutters and slated roof.
Repairs to stone parapet and weathering to parapet copings.
All slating/roofing was undertaken in accordance with BS 5534
Challenges
Although the building is not listed it has significant historic value. Therefore, all works were undertaken to the highest standards using quality materials.
Health and Saftey
The project was complete without RIDDOR accidents and there were no injuries to report the entire construction process
