Part demolition of existing late 1700’s Police house, refurbishment of remaining building and the construction of 6 new apartments in a single 2 storey block
Construction details
Demolition of existing cells, excavation of foundations, blockwork/stonework to walls, roofing, fitout including partitions, windows, ceilings. The original stone was reused up to window cill height in the build to retain a link to the existing building.
Challenges
The main difficulties on the project were underpinning and the unforeseen structural dilapidations of the existing buildings.
Health and Safety
The project was completed without RIDDOR accidents and there were no injuries to report during the entire construction process.
