Code have been awarded the refurbishment contract for the northern office of one of the UK’s leading global payments companies who are a partner relied on by financial institutions, corporates and governments.
The multi-phased scheme sees Code upgrade and enhance the existing first and second floor office space, approximately 120,000 sq ft of accommodation, by reconfiguring the space, Code will increase the staff capacity without extending the original floorplates as staff from several buildings will be relocated to the new enhanced facility.
The client will remain in occupation of the building throughout the duration of the project, with careful phasing minimising the impact of work on day-to-day operations, which is particularly difficult as all the power supplies are to be renewed. This is a highly important building to the Client with critical transactions and operations being undertaken 24hrs a day, 365 days a year.
Several staff moves are required to complete the full refurbishment and Code will deliver the alteration of the existing accommodation to provide a modern open plan office and workspace. Revitalised WC’s, shower facilities, a feature oak clad atrium, Restaurant and tea points are all part of the whole scale changes planned by the design team.
Paul O’Hare, Director of Code Building Solutions, commented: “Maintaining business continuity is critical in live environment office projects, especially in a building of this nature where an interruption would be very costly for our Client in monetary terms and reputational damage. We respect each project as being unique and our customers have a distinct set of requirements which our teams work hard to achieve. It’s our aim to understand what the Client wants and exceed these expectations.
